Axie Infinity utilizes a dual-token system:

• Axie Infinity Shards (AXS): An ERC-20 governance token that allows holders to participate in key decisions regarding the game's development and ecosystem. AXS can be earned through gameplay, staking, and participating in governance votes.
• Smooth Love Potion (SLP): An in-game currency earned by winning battles and completing quests. SLP is primarily used for breeding new Axies.

The total supply of AXS tokens is capped at 270,000,000, with a vesting schedule that aims to distribute all tokens by early 2026. As of now, the circulating supply is approximately 167,926,314.61, and the current market capitalization stands at $159,738,075. The current price of AXS is $0.95.

Axie Infinity reached its all-time high price of $164.90 on November 6, 2021. Since then, the game's economy has faced challenges, including token inflation and sustainability concerns, leading to ongoing adjustments by the developers to maintain balance and long-term viability.

Despite these challenges, Axie Infinity remains a pioneering project in the GameFi space, continually evolving to provide a compelling blend of gaming and decentralized finance.
