Wealth forward: a letter from the Nexo team on our eighth anniversary

In 1418, the city of Florence held a competition to solve a problem that had remained open for over a century: the cathedral’s dome was designed before anyone knew how to build it. It sat open to the sky, not because the ambition was wrong, but because the architecture to realize it had not been invented yet. Filippo Brunelleschi, the architect who won the commission, did not propose a smaller dome or an easier shape. He invented the method that made it possible to build the one already drawn. The dome was always in the vision, but the architecture to realize it had yet to be created.

The architecture for the next generation of wealth did not exist when Nexo first started either. No one had yet built a single account for all your digital asset needs, and building it would require inventing the architecture from scratch.
