How do borrowing rates compare?

Nexo Credit Line rates depend on your Wealth Club tier and LTV. Starting rates range from 12.9% annual interest at the Classic tier to 0.9% at the Signature tier, which requires holding 2 million NEXO Tokens, with an LTV of 20% or below. Tiers depend on NEXO Token holdings, and the token's price is volatile.
Coinbase variable loan rates are set by supply and demand in the Morpho market and may include a Coinbase platform fee, alongside fixed-rate options.
Rates on both platforms can change, so check current terms in each app.

How does Nexo operate in the U.S.?

Nexo's U.S. offering runs through a partnership with Bakkt, a publicly listed U.S. digital asset platform. Bakkt provides the trading infrastructure behind Nexo's U.S. products, and U.S. client assets are held with Bakkt.

What happens if my collateral value drops?

With Nexo, you may receive Margin Call notifications as your LTV rises, and if it reaches 83.33%, part of your collateral is automatically used to repay part of your Credit Line. With Coinbase, collateral can be liquidated once LTV reaches 86% on BTC and ETH, with a 4.38% liquidation penalty.
On both platforms, you can add collateral or repay to lower your LTV.

What are the risks of borrowing on Nexo or Coinbase?

On both, falling collateral values can trigger automatic repayments or liquidation. With Nexo, your collateral is held with Bakkt, and you take on counterparty and platform risk. With Coinbase, loans run on Morpho's smart contracts, so protocol and smart-contract risks also apply.

How do I switch from Coinbase to Nexo?

Create a Nexo account and complete identity verification. Then add funds by ACH or wire transfer, or transfer your crypto from Coinbase to your Nexo account. Once your assets arrive, you can swap them on the Exchange, open a Credit Line, or opt in to Flexible Yield. Your bank may apply a processing fee, and network fees may apply to crypto transfers.
